Pierce is fully aware that many companies find themselves challenged by the stringent inspection, packaging, documentation and shipping requirements mandated by the United States government. Pierce deals with these matters daily and provides their customers absolute assurance of compliance and acceptance. Pierce started as a Government Packaging Company in 1954 and continued to support customer shipments to the U.S. Military through the Korean War, Vietnam, and Desert Storm. Presently, Pierce ships frequently to military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pierce has packed tank hatch covers, parts for the B-52 bomber, and submarine engines valued at more than a million dollars. Pierce will:
- Coordinate on-site inspections by certified government representatives
- Provide identification and acquisition of all specific packaging materials required (i.e. wood, scrim bags, desiccant, corrugated pads, VCI wrap, humidity detectors, etc…)
- Provide cost-effective packaging in accordance with all required specifications including MIL-STD-2073
- Ensuring application and production of all necessary military markings in accordance with MIL-STD-129 and all required bar-code labels in accordance with AIM-BC1.
- Prepare and distribute the Material Inspection and Receiving Report-DD250 through the Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) System.
- Ship the completed military parcel to the destination specified, via the mode of transportation identified by the customer.
- Manufacture military specification wood boxes (ISPM 15 stamped) on-site
- Advise and consult with manufacturers new to military specification packaging
- Provide documentation completion and contract interpretation
