CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 – Pierce Was an Active Participant in this Record Setting Event
Eleven members from Pierce’s sales team and upper management group participated in the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 from March 11th through March 15, 2008. This trade show was the largest trade show in North America of any industry scheduled in 2008. More than 144,600 industry professionals from around the world attended the five (5) day event at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 covered more than 2.28 million net square feet of exhibit space; 54 miles of aisles; and 2,182 exhibitor spaces. Not pictured is Donna Hogan who also attended. Participation in this event represents the single largest marketing endeavor undertaken by Pierce in its history. Many months were devoted to the design and construction of the Trade Show booth, the production of the digital video to present the full extent of Pierce’s service offerings and the creation of a new-look brochure and marketing materials to be distributed at the show.
During the long “foot blistering” event we were like “kids in a candy store” finding every possible global equipment manufacturer prospect in one location. Each day, Pierce’s team met with present customers and desired clients to discuss new operations and the expansion of current service offerings. Significant meetings far beyond handshaking and “here is what we do” took place with Doosan, Dressta, Hyundai, JLG, Komatsu, Manitowoc Crane Group, Sany, Sauer Danfoss, Volvo Construction Equipment and others. The sheer number of contacts made ensures Pierce a flow of opportunity that will continue through the next show in 2011.
Each evening, the Pierce group took current and prospective customers out to enjoy Las Vegas’ finest eating establishments. One of the outings orchestrated by John Iguchi included two of the chairpersons at the top of Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) a part of the Polish government and the parent organization to Dressta Corporation. Other dinners or lunches were attended by Caterpillar, Gehl, Komatsu, LBX, JLG, the Changsha Municipal Government, Isuzu, Sumitomo, and CEMA (Japan-Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association).
Those of us who attended the ConExpo would like to thank those who supported our efforts and contributed significantly to make this very demanding project happen. Those who gave of their time and skills included: Chris Cacciatore, Dario Nanni, David Yang, Derek Messink, Jason Smith, Larry Hickey, Marianne Lewin, Martin Contreras and Tony Chiodini.
